I was co-opted at 2014 Quest Conference. I have been a member of Quest since the “debate” about marriage equality made it clear to me that the acceptance of LGBT people was far less widespread than I had naively believed.
I’m Scottish, born Presbyterian in Ayrshire, and attended medical school in Edinburgh, but now have been living in Royal Tunbridge Wells for half my life. I retired two years ago from Community Paediatrics. Married, with three wonderful adult children – one of whom is gay. I became Catholic nine years ago, to my great surprise, and in spite of everything, joy. Great at languages, rubbish with numbers, software won’t beat me, though hardware is challenging. Can’t do flowers, or sing, except Taizé or with a largely male gathering – voice too low since childhood.
I’m disorganised, but passionate!
