LGBT Clergy Conference (European Clergy Forum)

Email from Norway received via the European Forum

It is a joy for us in Open Church group in Norway once more to invite you all – clergy of all kind – to the international LGBT-clergy conference (European Clergy Forum) in November. Like 2 years ago we are able to present for you a conference that we hope can give inspiration and renew your spirit in your work.

Also this time the conference will take place in Granavolden: http://www.granavolden.no/. This place is easy to access from the Oslo Airport Gardermoen, and its only 70 km north of Oslo. With 2 medival churches as the closest neighbors to the hotel, we have a lot of good possibility to have some good days together in a nice and warm environment on the countryside. We will try to make a time for spiritual renewing and with lectures, discussions, meals and common experiences; we do hope you will find this interesting to be a part of.

Dates: 9.-12. November 2012

The dates are fixed to Friday 9th to Monday 12th of November. A group of people here, Kristine, Gard and Nils Joran have been working on the program that will be a mix of theological inputs, possibility to shear outputs and living a spiritual life together. See below.

We hope to get inspiration, to find sources for our common faith, and to straighten our goals: fully acceptance as whole bodies within the church. To be able to put the program together in the best way for those who participate; it would be really helpful for us to know if you would like to come. For that we now send out this and hopefully you can respond to us tentatively, so we might have an impression of how many we are going to be. If you sign up now, it might be because of just your intention; this responce will not be binding for you.

The conference is getting support from the Norwegian government, Open Churchgroup in Oslo and some of the dioceses in the church of Norway. We still don’t know exactly how much we will get, but our goal is to have so much that not only the conference, the hotel and the food will be for free, but it might also possible to get some support for travel expenses. We will let you know exactly when we have got the answer for our application. You might count on a total expenses on this week end on 1000.- NoK (at the moment about 140 Euro)

Sign up today and maybe we see each other in November!

Best regards from Kristine, Gard and Nils
